Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals 2014

MCACN 2014

Amazing, Unbelievable, incomprehensible, Unconstitutional!!!  These are just some of the words that describe the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals.  This was the first time I attended and wow, what a feast for the eyes no Thanksgiving table can compete with.  Truly sensory overload on all areas.  Pictures aren't enough to capture how over the top this show was.  If you've never gone, GO!  You will not be disappointed.

How the show looks during set up days.  Chaos all over, but it's amazing how it all comes together in the end.

I brought the Bee and was in the Barn Find/Hidden Gem (junk!) section.

A professional photographer for Allpar.com and another for Hemmings Muscle Machines took some pictures of Kelly walking around in proper 1969 attire.  It was a great time!!

After posing next to the Moulin Rouge car, the owner of the 1970 unrestored, 38,000 original mile, Superbird lifted her on the wing of the car for a great photo op!!!

Here's my car in the display and the coolest thing about that is right above my hood scoop is my buddy Phil's car.  A 1969 Yenko Chevelle!  I haven't seen Phil in over 13yrs when we used to fly together at TWA.  This was a reunion for us since we both have our Super Cars on display.  One shiney, one not so much.

The protoype 1969 Boss 302 #1 and the Barn Find section where I was placed front and center.

COOOL!!!  I KNOW!!!  And that's THE RONNIE SOX's car right there!!!!

...And THE DICK LANDY'S CAR!!  I KNOW AGAIN!!!!!!

This display was used in conjunction with the cut-a-way display of the Corvette below.  A really neat idea and what cool display!!!

Vettes were all around.  These two 66s were here with a Husband and Wife.  One is a factory COPO, 427 Tri-powered big block and the other is a 327 Fuelie.

The show was Hemified all over.  So many Hemis on display.  Enough horsepower here to trump the entire Middle Ages!!!!

I snagged this picture of Kelly walking out of this vintage "Canned Ham" travel trailer.  She just wanted us to take it home!

70 Challenger pace car that was thought to have been crushed.

"New for 1963:  Corvette Stingray.  Want to go for a ride?"

Kelly and I posing next to the "Godfather of the GTO", Jim Wangers

"Plymouth Duster.  Who's checking out your headlights?

I took this shot next to my buddy Phil's COPO.  I'm going to try and make that a poster as that's a really good shot.  The car is all original, and a well documented COPO.

Kelly posed next to the Golden Commandos, factory Chrysler drag team from 63 on.

A row of Boss 429s.  Not just a few, a CrapLoad!!!!  And that doesn't include the 69s yet!

Hemi Daytona, Hemi Bird, Hemi everything!!!!!  So many cool cars you almost felt like you were walking around the Mall parking lot looking at Hyundais, "Oh, another Boss 429, Hemi Super Bird, 440-6pk Cuda...you've seen one, you've seen them all."  I can't believe I was falling into that trap.  Just so many nice cars!!!!!!

And look who made it on an official MCACN show poster!!!  This ad will be run in all the popular magazines like Mopar Collector's Guide, Muscle Car Review, and countless others!!!  So exciting!  I'm hoping next year for the unveiling of the Bee that I can have a nice poster made of this to display next to the car.  SO MUCH FUN!!!!
